The right people to keep transport moving

During the time Abtran has been working with Ireland’s National Transport Authority (NTA) we’ve supported initiatives such as the Leap Card, bus market deregulation, real time passenger information, next generation ticketing, automatic vehicle location systems and the National Journey Planner.

Our primary role has been to provide experienced resources in three areas: Project Management, ICT and Operations. We have also supported them with skilled people providing expertise in finance, CX, Procurement and Taxi Regulation.

We work very closely with our client to ensure there is no ‘us and them’ attitude. In fact, many of the people we have sourced have successfully progressed their careers through the NTA organisation with support from both Abtran and NTA.

We currently provide 45 onsite specialist roles to the NTA including Project Managers, Programme and Portfolio Managers, Business Analysts, ICT Managers, Service Delivery Managers, Product Owners, Principle Architects, Compliance Managers, Testing experts, Finance Managers, Financial Accountants, Digital Development and Social Media Specialists and Procurement experts.

Recent projects include an implementation programme to support the opening of the bus market as well as implementation of the next generation ticketing system – a successor system to the current Leap Card system with support for contactless payments. Assignments are deployed in agreement with the NTA to ensure each resource has the most appropriate skills and experience for the specific needs of the project.

Most importantly, we know NTA well enough that we are able to provide people who not only have the right skills, qualifications and experience but are the right cultural fit, in terms of personality, attitude and approach to their role.
